BMW Launches Heritage Collection M3 Models for Singapore

Singapore is one of those places where it might actually hurt to be a car guy. That’s because prices for decent cars over there are usually through the roof. BMW and other premium manufacturers have sky high price tags forced by the legislation of the country. The Germans recently announced that a special range of BMW M3 models will be launched under the Heritage Collection nameplate.

The BMW brand has been celebrating its 100th anniversary this year and as it draws to a close, it seems like it doesn’t plan on slowing down. As a matter of fact, BMW has more than one reason to celebrate in 2016. Alongside its centenary, the BMW 02 Series turned 50 while the BMW M3 celebrated its 30th anniversary. For that occasion alone, the M model received the 30 Jahre Edition, a special version with all sorts of upgrades compared to the standard version.

Well it’s time for Singapore residents to celebrate, they are about to be at the receiving end of what the Germans call the BMW M3 Heritage Collection. The Heritage Collection is a limited number of special versions of the M3, dressed in Daytona Violet Metallic, Dakar Yellow II, or British Racing Green. Only 30 units will be made in total, 10 for each color and all of them will come fitted with the Competition Package as standard.

That means the output of the S55 3-liter straight six twin-turbo mill was taken up to 450 HP from the standard 431 with the torque figure remaining the same, at 550 Nm (406 lb-ft). That’s not the biggest change though, as the ZCP M3 models also get a rather stiffer suspension setup which allows you to better control your ride. Other changes done to the Heritage Collection models include bigger 20″ wheels, black chrome exhaust tips, LTW front seats, and laser engravings on the carbon fiber trims. As we mentioned from the get go, pricing won’t be in anyone’s reach, these limited-edition models starting at over $287,000 in Singapore.
