With its sporty design, futuristic lines and above all, impressive performance, the BMW i8 is one of the hottest vehicles available on the market today. The hybrid sportscar is powered by a combination of a 1.5 liter three-cylinder petrol engine and electric motors, powering all four wheels, on request.
The combustion engine develops 170 kW/231 hp and drives the rear wheels of the BMW i8. Furthermore, there is a 96 kW/131 hp electric drive as well, which sends its power to the front wheels and allows an all-electric range of up to 35 kilometers (22 miles) and a top speed of 120 km/h (75 mph). The i8 will accelerate from 0-62mph (0-100km/h) in just 4.2 seconds. Consequently, there are a lot of i8s running around the world today, forcing some owners to turn to the aftermarket tuning industry for that additional customization touch.
This particular BMW i8 is equipped with a set of HRE Performance Wheels from the S201H line. The design of the S201H includes hidden assembly bolts, a unique twisted spoke geometry and complex 360 degree surfacing inspired by the latest supercars. In turn, the final product is a wheel series that combines styles and exclusivity matching the current top-models in both the supercar, sports, performance and SUV world, together with lightweight, wheel strength and amazing design as well.
This BMW i8 project is done by Baan Velgen, a tuning shop based in Netherlands who is behind some rather striking builds. The project is detailed in a photoshoot by Thomas Van Rooij photography and it’s available in the media gallery right below.
